2006 Vancouver Sun Run
The Kintec Footlabs team visited the Vancouver Sun Run on the morning of Sunday April 23rd, 2006 to cheer on the thousands of runners and walkers! Situated at kilometre 8, the cheering team infused enthusiasm into the runners and walkers with music and other noise-makers. The Kintec K mascot was also present to cheer on and high-five the participants.

2006 Live Smart Diabetes Expo
Kintec was present at the 2006 Live Smart Diabetes Expo presented by the Canadian Diabetes Association. Bringing a selection of diabetes-friendly products, the Kintec Team also highlighted the F-scan pressure mapping system (used in all Kintec locations) and its ability to detect any pressure points within a customer’s shoe itself. This is especially important due to the propensity for diabetic patients to develop ulcers in their feet due to the loss of circulation and the resultant lost of lower limb sensation. Kintec experts can then make the necessary modifications to the customer’s shoe to relieve any pressure points, thereby reducing the customer’s risk of injury!

2006 Langley Walk
The Kintec Langley team joined the residents of Langley on a cold and windy Sunday May 7th morning for the 44th annual Langley Walk at South Aldergrove Park.

2006 Langley Tri-It Triathlon

This week, Kintec was present at the 6th annual Langley Tri-It Triathlon. This year’s event proved to be the largest ever, with 224 athletes competing, with ages ranging from 3 to 71 years of age! The 2006 event raised over $7000 for the BC Professional Fire Fighters Burn Fund.

2006 Maple Ridge Vistas Run

The Kintec Maple Ridge team and the Kintec Purple K Mascot were present at this year’s run on Sunday May 28th. Now in its ninth year, proceeds from the Vistas Run were donated to the Ridge Meadows Hospice Society and its effort to build a new hospice at Ridge Meadows Hospital. To the delight of many participants, the Purple K mascot was there to cheer on participants and high-five them as they crossed the finish line!

2006 Maple Ridge Fund Run
The Kintec Footlabs team visited the Maple Ridge Fund Run on a rainy Sunday morning on June 4th, 2006. Stationed in the registration pick-up and awards ceremony area, the Kintec team was there to provide advice, as well as a selection of products from our store. With hundreds of local Maple Ridge residents battling the elements, the Kintec K mascot was also there to congratulate the run participants with a high-five at the finish line!

2006 Underwear Affair

Kintec supports BC Cancer’s cause towards cancers of the lower body at the first ever Underwear Affair. This colourful event, held on Saturday evening, July 6th, 2006, was hosted at BC Place Stadium and on the streets of Vancouver. Over 2000 participants and visitors were present, with a 5 km walk and a 10 km run component, followed by Live Music and prizes at the EXPOsed after party.

Kintec’s Human Kinetic Specialists and Pedorthists were on hand to demonstrate the exclusive InCAP Digital Video Motion Analysis System, as well as to hand out temporary tattoos and other prizes! Asics company representatives were also at the Kintec area with some of their cool new shoes and apparel on hand!

2006 Mixxco Canaccord Wellness Fair
On Sept 14th, Kintec joined Mixxco Fitness at the Canaccord Tower in beautiful downtown Vancouver for the inaugural Wellness Fair. All Canaccord Financial employees were invited to this event, which provided information, tools, and resources for leading a vibrant life.
